SPIRITUAL DNA

The foundation is the most important piece to any structure. We built the foundation of Discovery on 4 non-negotiables:

1.THE GOODNESS OF GOD THE FATHER: God is the Creator of all which makes Him the author of all. He is just. He is righteous. He is holy. He is good. God’s goodness was put on display when he sent his Son Jesus to become the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of humanity. “For this is how God loved the world: He gavehis one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” JOHN 3:16

2.THE SACRIFICE OF GOD THE SON: We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, paid the price for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the scriptures, ascended to the right and of the Father, and will return agin in power and glory. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” MARK10:45“This Jesusis the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” ACTS 4:11-12

3. THE RELIANCE ON GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. The Holy Spirit’s role in the life of a believer, is too: empower, direct, convict, and equip. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” ACTS 1:8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” JOHN 14:264.

4. THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORD OF GOD: The Holy Bible and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant.All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that the man of Godmay be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 TIMOTHY 3:1
